Zugg Software :: View topic - Multi-User Windows XP

I'm trying to set up my new computer as a multi-user machine for myself and my roommate/roommates boyfriend. Since it is my computer, I have myself as a Sys Admin account and the other is a Limited Access account.

I've tried running zMUD on the limited account and get the following error messages...

SQL Error: Table mudlist already exists.

***Program freezes... Right program on task bar... Close***

Cannot create ...(blah blah blah)\zmud\zmud.ini

***Note: file already exists from Admin install of zmud***

What can I do to fix this? Some kind of multi-user registry thing I'm sure... any ideas?

Run Zmud under the admin account 1st.
And make sure the directory is not read-only and is accessible to write by the other user.

I'm using XP Home... so maybe I'm missing something, somewhere... but I can't find anyplace to specify who has R/W access to folders. So..... this might be the ghetto way of doing it, but, it worked.... I copied the entire directory into the Shared Documents folder. And it works perfectly. Very Happy

Thought it was Right Click Folder, Select Properties, Select Security and work it from there.
Of course I am looking at the info on a networked computer at work on XP Pro.
So it might vary for you.

I've worked on XP Pro before, and I've got Win2000 at work, and I was looking for the same thing... I think they just reduced it to a more "average user" format for XP Home... Admin has access to everything... Limited is, well, it's limited. Laughing

My next experiment would be to change the setting in Zmud to point to the .ini file being in the shared folder, and the rest of the program living in Program Files where it belongs. Cool

Until then tho, this seems to work just the way I wanted it to.
