Upgraded ZMud, nothing works now |
I upgraded to ZMud 7.12. Now nothing works, either the old one or the new one. Alff of the files are read only, and undeletable. When I started it the second time after the upgrade, I got an illegall address access violation. Since then, only a tiny part of the splace screen comes up. At this point I'm uninstalling everything. I am not happy.

If the files are read-only, then that's a problem on your local computer. None of the files installed by zMUD should be set to read-only. Perhaps you copied them from a CD or network drive or something like that.
Some other people have reported an error after getting the splash screen the second time they run the program. See the other topic thread in this forum for that discussion.
Also, whenever reporting a problem, you should always give more information, such as the version of Windows you are using and what version of zMUD you were using before you upgraded.
And, of course, whenever upgrading *any* software you should always make a backup so that you can go back to the previous version if there is a problem. |

*shudder 7.12* Its the first version I ever installed that gave me all kinds of errors, mostly due to my fault prolly because I did something along the lines of
instal 7.11 over 7.05 in Zmud dir
install 7.05 in zmudtest dir //Checking on a possible bug
install 7.12 in Zmud dir over 7.11
It gave me all kinds of errors, and also wasnt able to use Zmud/zmud.exe as a plugin refrence, so I just went through uninstalled all the zmud versions reinstalled and ploped my backup char.db and folders into place. |
