Can't connect to own Winmoo (??) |
I can use zMUD to connect to other MUDs. But I can't seem to get it to connect to my own LambdaMOO (WinMOO) which I have set up to run on my own computer. Specifically, I make a new connection with my IP address on port 7777, but when I try to connect it just says attempting connection... hangs there, then it keeps trying to reconnect to no avail.
Any ideas?? I am running Windows XP, btw.
Also, when I try to telnet anywhere, the telnet window will pop up saying "Connecting to <ip address>...", followed by below it "Escape character is [Ctrl +]" It pops up really quickly then just closes on its own.
Should also mention that this is happening with most MUDs I am trying out, such as:
fluff.dhs.org 1977
But it works with a few MUDs such as:
moo.squidsoft.net 6666
I am totally confused why telnet is working with these few MUDs but not others!
Any advice appreciated. |

To connect to yourself try using an IP of 127.0.0.0 as to telnet misbehaving, well it is MS software after all.
