Phantom Button |
I have this phantom button on one of the panels. It's blank, and I think it got left over from when I was working on guages. It doesn't appear anywhere in my settings, but does show up as a #button if I export my settings. Is there any way to edit this?

under setting click the button icon so that only buttons show, then All Classes
It should list all your buttons including the phantom one. |

Under the View menu, try checking "Show Hidden". If that fails, back-up your settings, export a text file of everything by showing everything, selecting it all, and using File > Export Text. Look around in your text file and delete the phantom button, the delete all your settings in ZMud (this is why you backed things up first) and import everything from the text file. If all goes well, you should be rid of your phantom button. (If you're unsure of anything I've said, keep your finger away from the delete key.)

I believe the phantom button is cause by a button having no caption. It is rare for this to happen and so has never been able to be tracked down as a bug. The best way to deal with it is to determine the button's number then use the #UNBUTTON command with that number. Since you can see it in your export simply take note of the number immediately following the #BUTTON command shown there. That is the one to use with #UNBUTTON.
As DeathDealer suggested before attempting anything to fix this back up your settings. I suggest both a text export and copying the actual .mud file. |

Err...Vij, Gamma suggested the back up :-)
But thanks for the shout out ;-) and i forgot that buttons get #'s. So your idea should work perfectly for him :-)
Gamma good point on the "show hidden" i have mine turned on all the time and never even thought of it. |

Brilliant! That's exactly what I needed. Hrm...this #UN functions are kinda interesting. Guess I should scroll down the list more often.
