font trouble

I just started using zMud and I'm trying to set up the preferences to my liking. When I go into font settings, I choose my font and when I enable bold or italics, neither work for the output window settings. They are enabled but they dont do anything. The same thing happens in zChat. However for both zmud and zchat the changes work for the input line. And yes, I did hit apply/ok. Help please, thx.
