Problem with zmud |
I am having trouble with zmud. It doesn't start, I've uninstalled it, deleted all zmud files from computer, and redownloaded it, then reinstalled it. But it still doesn't work, I format my comp about 2 weeks ago. It doesn't even give me a message saying something is wrong. It's not even in my cltr + alt + del list.
Can someone help me find out how to fix this? |

What versions of zMud and operating system are you running? When you format your comp, did you re-install any/all updates?

You might want to check your Services to see if LicCtrl Service is running. This is the eLicense stuff that decrypts ZMud for you. If it's not running, ZMud won't run at all.

Here is a list of Common startup problems with the common answer in the order they happen. This is after you click the icon to run it.
Nothing happens, no splash screen, just an hourglass then nothing = LicCtrl service is not running (start the service)
Zmud splash screen and then a message to update data components = Wrong or corrupt version of MDAC (Try updating MDAC)
Zmud splash screen then freezes/crashes at loading plugin "name" = Zmud can't find the named plugin (requires removal of a zmud related registry key)
Zmud loaded but clicking a char Icon crashes/freezes zmud = Corrupt settings file (rename the .mud file and then try and import)
Those are about all the major ones I can think of right now. |
