Having problems with the #message command

Is there a way to disable the pop-up alerts that the command #mess creates?
I have a script that creates a pop-up alert when ever an area in the mud repops. But lately, those alerts have not been showing. Sometimes the screen will sorta flicker.. like its pop'ing then being suppressed, much like a pop-up blocker. It it possible that a browser pop-up blocker is affecting it? or is there some setting that I may have accidently changed? I'd really like it to begin working again....
I am running zmud version 7.05 on a XP home machine with the newest service pack.
