triggering without a new line

I'm receiving text from a mud I play that doesn't produce a new line. I'll receive the pattern, and if I hit 'enter' before more text is received, the trigger will fire. The patterns are data coming from the mud that I'm using triggers to parse, so in the end I'll end up gagging or #sub'ing it to nothing. I thought unchecking 'Newline' on trigger on would fix this. Any ideas? Can zMUD do this?

alright, newline is off and prompt is on. It still requires the mud or myself to provoke a new line. :/
