Mobile zMUD? |
Is it possible to not have zMUD install? Instead, can I set it up on a virtual drive off a network, or on a USB memory stick?
If it isn't... Any chance we can have a no-install option for zMUD? |

Not likely since u need to have a program running in the background called Runservice.exe.
Personally i find that needing to have a prog running to be able run zmud is a waste of resources.
As it is, i would like to get the eLicense Control listing OFF of My Computer's listing.
There's no point for it to be there. |

The eLicense background service is only needed to *start* zMUD. It hardly uses any resources, so that's really not an argument these days.
Without copy protection, zMUD wouldn't exist, so you just need to live with it. And no, there is no way to run zMUD without installing it. If that was possible than someone would just post it to the Internet and everyone would use it for free, and I'd be out of business and no longer improving zMUD. |

I don't mind that eLicense or whatever protection you use... Since I'm a register user...
Just too bad there is no way to keep it mobile while having that protection there...
From a program point of view... There is no way... But how about other tricks that might allow such a possibility? Anyone know? Must be way to run that service still while having it mobile...
PS - If there is truely no way at all through some form of softwares trick... Then I guess I have to find myself a laptop then... |
