Upgrading broke vt102 |
I upgraded from version 6.66 (give or take a bit). The vt102 emulation worked great, just as it always had, before upgrading. After upgrading to current version (7.05) vt102 doesn't work at all, making zmud unusable for the mud I play on.
Where do I find previous versions of Zmud? I can not continue using the new version.
Thanks.
Regards,

What part of the vt102 doesn't work? The new version actually fixes many bugs in the old vt102 support. Were you using a MUD or some other standard vt102 server? If you were using a MUD, it's possible they tweaked their vt102 support to make the old version of zMUD and now have a buggy server implementation.
But without specifics on exactly what isn't working and where you are trying to log into or some specific text output from the system causing problems, there isn't anything we can do to help.
Old versions of zMUD are not available. |

Up until now, setting the the number of lines recieved from the mud to 24 allowed the bottom status bar to always be at the bottom of the window.

Mud. Specifically, Forgotten Kingdoms (http://www.forgottenkingdoms.com/). The vt102 interface is an updated version of the vt102 interface originally used on Mortal Realms (ie MrTerm).

You need to set the number of lines on the MUD to be the actual number of lines in your zMUD window now. That was one of the bugs that was fixed. In the past zMUD used line 25 to always be the status line. This caused it to break on systems that supported other terminal sizes (like linux shell sessions, etc). So now the MUD needs to use the NAWS telnet option to determine the size of your window, or else you need to manually tell the MUD the size of your window. Then it should work ok.
The vt102 interface used on Mortal Realms was definitely tweaked and it is certainly very possible that it was changed to work with the old bugs in the old version of zMUD. The new version of zMUD was tested with standard vt102 servers such as linux servers, rather than with MUDs.
Anyway, play with the terminal size options on the MUD and you should be able to get it working in the new version. |
