out of memory |
I'm running windows xp pro and zmud 7.05 on a P4 with 1 gig of ram. I've had my max lines in main window set to 65k for a long time and never had any problems. It seems like before if I ran out of memory for the scrollback then it'd start wiping out the older lines to make space for the newer lines? Well recently the mud I play started allowing multiplaying, so I've had 3 character windows open at a time and if I play for more than a couple hours or so, I suddenly start getting bombarded with "out of memory" OK boxes. Is this a scrollback thing, or a bug in a script somewhere? Any suggestions on how to test it to find out?
Thanks,

Reduce the number of lines in your scrollback memory and see if it helps. Try around 1000 (the default). |

im having this problem on a regular basis too. It happens at random times. Sometimes i can play for hours in a row without problem, other times the out of memory message appears within 15 minutes after a reboot. zMud closes after the error. At that time trying to start another program gives the same out of memory message.
Im using v7.05 on win98. |

I lowered my max lines in main window preference to 50k. I don't know if it's coincidence, but I haven't had the problem since then (several days). I wanted to point out that our problems don't seem to be the same. The out of memory boxes didn't cause zmud to close. I had to hit return really fast to keep up with them so I could click the quit button in zmud. Once I did that, I could restart zmud (or anything else) without problem.

This sounds like a bad setting or more than one setting that call each other. |
