Zchat always fails to connect to someones ip for me, also is it possible zchat could be updated or even made possible to use with mud master 2000 users?

You need to go into your Friends list in zChat and specifically set the MudMaster flag for that person. The author of MM2000 changed his chat protocol to specifically mess up zChat, and there isn't a whole lot I can do about it.
When I add built-in chat features to CMUD I will be taking a new look at this to see if I can improve it. But since zChat is and old and free plugin, you are pretty much stuck with it as it is, sorry. |

ok cool, no was having problems connecting to someone with zchat, can a router cuz this problem?

Yes, a router or firewall can definitely cause this problem. That's the limitation of peer-peer chat programs like zChat...zChat needs to be able to connect to your friends computer directly and if your friend has a firewall or proxy server, then you won't be able to connect. "Real" chat programs, like AIM, MSN, etc, use an intermediate server so that each person only needs to make a client connection to this common intermediate server. zChat requires that both computer be able to work as both a client and as a server and most firewall software specifically blocks a computer that tries to act as a server and accept outside connections.
