Array variables turn into %tmpcmd65858 ???

I must have done something wrong somewhere, but don't know what.
Basically it used to work fine, but now whenever I try to set an array using a script or command line, the array variable is shown as something like '%tmpcom17895590'. This happens even if I use the examples shown in the help file.
using #show %arrget(...) just gives a blank line as if there is nothing in the variable.
If I create a stringlist in using the settings editor it works fine, which leads me to believe that I have done a wrong setting somewhere, but I cannot find what.
Can someone pls help me with this?

I've run across this error a couple times, and restarting zMUD has cleared it up.

Sorry it's not much of an explanation, but it's all I can offer.
