mass linking in mapper

any way to mass link all links on a map without manually linking them or walking the whole map? i have an area with about 100 rooms with all exits (n s e w ne se sw nw) on almost all rooms and dont want to manually link them.

Keyboard Creation offline and as long as the rooms are spaced normally the links should be connected if you walk the DOT around using the numbad.

i already have the map made, and i captured the short room descs when i made it so i dont think i can walk it without actually entering the room or the map wont follow me. i was hoping there was an easy way to join all the broken links, like hilight all of them, right click and "connect all broken links" or something for example. its a big task to enter each room and go n s e w ne se sw nw into to test all the broken links...

Yes but if you do it offline keyboard creation mode its fairly instantaneos as you don't have to be connected to the mud

IE disconnect from your mud
goto map mode
select keyboard creation
set current position somewhere and
start connecting your rooms by moving between them

and walking the map that way will not clear my short descriptions, it will just link the broken links? thanks much...

seems if i already have the map made and ive captured the brief desc of the room then this method won't work, any other way to mass link the rooms without having to test every link in every room?

I have a similar problem though on a much larger scale - we're talking over 10000 rooms so there's no way I'm gonna sit down and use the keyboard mapping technique!

Is there any other way?

to prevent this problem in the future-config settings/interface/auto-connect all diagonals(also click only autoconnect all stub exits)

If you know how to program MS Access, I'm sure you can do it in that, or if you know how to program SQL Server, you can link your SQL Server to your zMUD Map Database (which is an access file), and maybe make a query batch that links up all your stubs. (Make a backup first though!)

I wrote a script for this a long time ago. You can find it in this post. As I recall it makes some effort to assure that the stubs line up before connecting them.

I have to say, I'm impressed with that script, Vijilante! I've not tried it yet, but I read through it, and although it's horrifically complicated, it looks like it could. How do you manage to keep track of how many parenthesis and braces you have open while you are writing that?
