Output Window Font |
Hi, I'm using zMud v. 7.05 and am running under Windows XP. The problem I am having is that when I go to preferences and attempt to change the font, no matter what I change to I am stuck with the set font of "courier 10pt." I am running under 1280x1024 for my window size, because I do graphics and that's the best for graphics. However, this size makes it very difficult to read with that font. It's becoming a real hassle and it won't let me change it at all. Any help/suggestions?

Are you sure you're changing the right font? There are 4 of them, used for different things.
After making your change, click on apply, then OK (I've had rare cases where just hitting OK didn't apply the changes)
Also, make sure that the "Use Output font from Inherited settings file" is not checked. |

Oh my, I think it was because of the checkbox. Don't know how that got checked :-/ However, I still can't manage the whole bold ordeal. I think it's because my mud has to use the Ansi of bold to give the bright/dim toggle. Any other solutions concerning that?

Please clarify what "the whole bold ordeal" is.

Oh, well, even if I select on bold, it doesn't go bold for me. As I said, I think it might be due to the way my mud's Ansi setup is.

I've never tried using a bold font before, but I'm getting the same results as you. I cannot set the default text to be bold and/or italics. I'm testing in offline mode, so I'm certain that the MUD has nothing to do with it. I can bold certain lines using this syntax:
Quote: |
#SH ~this is bolded!~ |
or turn it on/off with the MXP Command:
Quote: |
#MXP
#SH This, and all MUD output is bolded!
#MXP
#SH This is no longer bolded.
|
So, if you want bold in some cases, by typically not, then you can use these in triggers. If you want all of your text to be bolded, you could add the line #MXP to the "atconnect" alias (which is in the System Class by default).
This is a workaround, and the issue with the Prefs should be reported as a bug. |
