I'm broke now. Can anyone suggest how to fix?

I upgraded the first of the week from 7.03 to 7.05. Everything was going fine, till I tried to use the mapper. I got a message about not being able to find the file exit.tbl in the jet database. Looked over the site and found updates. Great! I upgraded from MDAC 2.5 to 2.8 and installed Jet 4.0 from the site here. I rebooted ready to do some mapping and bam. I click the zMUD icon, splash screen comes up initializing moduals, lockup! My whole system freezes. No ctrl-alt-del, nothing. I deleted mudlist.mdb and try again. Splash screen comes up it starts to build a new DB and freezes again. Next step, I rename the chardb.mdb fire. Try again and i get frozen once more. I would be pulling my hair out right now if it was long enough to get a good grip on. Like one of the other posts I saw here I can no longer run the old version of 7.03 i was using either. I'm running Windows 98 on a Compaq presario 5304.

Please help me,
Mike
