Double commands being sent in L.O.R.D |
zMUD version: 7.05
Hi, I'm testing zMUD with Legend of the Red Dragon (LORD) but I'm finding that commands are being sent twice. As in, if I head to the forest and hit 'l' to find monsters then it auto-attacks the first hit. As though the 'l' was sent twice. When I attack again (monster hp providing) it hits twice. It seems to be doing this double not only for attacking but for all other things such as healing.
Not sure how to fix it so here's some info / test account so you can replicate [the server requires to be registered via their site so I made a test account to save you guys some time should I try to replicate].
server: telery.com (tried on a diff server and same double cmd occurred)
username: test
pw: test
When you get in, press 4 to select the only menu item that has colour. Then hit lord in this next listing of game categories. The char is in 'Lord game A' but it doesn't matter. If the char is dead in game a, then just create in game b and test.
Any feedback would be appreciated. |

If I recall correctly LORD reacts on single character inputs then has a default action which is activated by carrige returns. Since zMud by default send a line, as in what you typed plus a carrige return things aren't going the way you want.
To change this open the Preferences from the View menu. In the Emulation category check the box for Character Mode. Hit OK to update the Preference change. Now clicking in the text portion of your character window should be a cursor directly in the window, and single keystrokes will be sent.
If you are looking to use triggers with LORD at some point then the #SENDPROMPT command will be your best friend. |

Thanks Vijilante, that worked beautifully to solve my problem. Also, thanks for the heads up on #SENDPROMPT as I'm sure I would have encountered that problem soon enough.
