The problem is either a corrupt database or in your MDAC/JET installation. Start by checking your MDAC installation. Next try deleting the mudlist.mdb, it will get recreated. Finally rename the chardb.mdb, this one contains all your character information. zMud will again create a new one, but without current character data. If this is the problem file and you have characters that you can't recreate you can try either repairing the renamed one; or, assuming you upgraded from a previous zMud, you can use zsConvert to retrieve your character data from an old character database.
