Communication between zMud/Other Applications

I had an idea, as i recently wrote an app which can toggle the Keyboard LED's to any state i want, that this could be useful for tracking skill-status's. ie. Sneak (first led goes on), Notice (second led goes on) etc..

I guess the question is this. Can you make zMud communicate with an external program, preferably either through a string, or a bitcoded value, that instructs the other program which LED's to toggle.

Alternatively, but a bit messier, can you shell from within zMud to an external program with commandline arguments. Not the neatest way of doing things, but also a possibility.

Any input most welcome
Jaz

Sure can. You can use COM or DDE to communicate with other programs. You can use the #LAUNCH command to run another program.
