MSP Volume?

I noticed that this has been commented on before, but I couldn't find an answer as to why. I've tried altering the volume setting of the !!MUSIC command but my midi files all play at the same volume (which I'm guessing is 100%). Were music files only intended to be played at 100% volume, or is there something I'm doing wrong?
