[bug: 7.05] #YESNO

#YESNO "Where to you want to go today?" {Temple:.temple} {Guild:.guild} {*Microsoft:#URL http://www.microsoft.com}

This is the helpfile example. Put it into an alias or something similar and the syntax checker will pick up the '#' as incorrect.

So?
The syntax checker picks up many things as incorrect. Does the script work or not?

It is a bug with the syntax checker. The script does work, but that is besides the point.

If there are other pieces of code the syntax checker fails to interpret correctly, that would also be a bug, would it not? Forget the use of "bug", let's call it "an error in the source code". We could make that definition refer to something different, possibly call it a "misfire". Yes, misfire. I like that.

The syntax checker doesn't use the same code the trigger processor does - so yes, it's a bug, but a minimal one. The reason they're not the same code had to do with speed and usability. The code for the syntax checker was slower for processing triggers, but the code that was better for triggers was bad for syntax checking.

It's been around for several versions, so I wouldn't look for it to be fixed soon, especially since Zugg's focusing on the mail project and since this bug doesn't stop anything from working (except users, heh).
