Weird Plug-in Problem

Crisis. My zmud stopped working.

Here's what happened:
One of my boyfriend's buddies was using my bf's profile on my computer and downloading porn. So I deleted his profile, and set a password on mine. Now, my boyfriend had downloaded a plug-in for zmud and installed it on profile. And it got delete when I wiped his profile. And now zmud won't run because it keeps looking for the stupid plug-in which isn't there, and it freezes. (This was all v 6.45).

Well, I tried to redownload the plug-in, and place it in the proper folder. Didn't work. Can't run zmud so I can't install it properly. So I ran an un-install zmud, then installed it again. Didn't work. Same thing. It starts up, gets to that 'Module' and then freezes. Ok. So I deleted EVERYTHING on my hard drive that I could find that was remotely related to zmud, and downloaded the new version, installed it, ran it, and... SAME THING![:(!]

This is terrible. I have so many customized things I'm so used to doing with zmud I'm crippled without it.Sad

Someone... please... help...

Telnet sux.

Lemme throw in a few stab in darks :P

Try deleting your Zmud.ini file and seeing if it will load if that doesn't work try this
There might be other ways of doing this but Backup all your settings.mud files ETC Uninstall ZMUD and Delete the Zmud folder then reinstall see if that works

Ok try some of these [backup warning]BACK UP before trying this inexperiance can devestate your computer[/backup warning] :P

Delete Zmud and anything related to it, Run a registry cleaning program. REGEDIT from microsoft is decent enough.

when thats finished search your registry [warning] Messing with the registry can severly hamper your computer make backups [/warning] START-RUN-regedit .search for and delete keys related to these (I believe though that REGCLEAN should have already gotton these so you MAY be able to skip this part and just install Zmud.

zmud
spinningtimer
charbal

Install Zmud and hope it worked

Install to a new directory. See if that helps.

On recently looking through the reigstry for other stuff I found that zMud has some listing of plug-ins at [HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Zuggsoft/zMUD/Plugins]. You might want to look there for errant entries.

*cough* Sounds like you know what you're talking about Vijilante.

Unfortunately I don't ;)

While I know what a registry is, the idea of me finding my way around there is pretty hopeless :P

Sorry... I'm a journalism major here... I wouldn't know errant entries from a hole in the ground ;)

Anyone with msn messenger feel like walking me through a shot at this?

Start -> run -> regedit (you know how to do this but others prolly don't)
you get a cute window with things that ALL start with HKEY_
using Vijilante's map you can follow it down.
first "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"
then "Software"
then "Zuggsoft"
then "zMUD"
finally "Plugins"
when you get into that last folder you will see all the plug-ins that are plugged in. You can delete the broken plug that your rampant pornographic escapades lead to FUBARing and you should be good to go.
