Mapper, Database, and Room content

I really want to have the mapper capture the items in rooms while i'm mapping them, so I assumed that the "Contents" part of the room properties menu would be a good thing. Unfortunately, I cannot figure it out. I've never done anything at all with databases before, and the help files didn't seem to have anything on doing this...

Anyone know how you could make a database to do this? And what the syntax would be for a trigger adding things to it?

Sample room output from mud:

The Queen's Blessing
You step into this respectable looking inn. The common room is busy,
although not overcrowded. The bar patrons look well entertained by the
combination of pleasant music and strong ale. There seems to be some room
by the bar and you are tempted to sit for a few hours and enjoy some
relaxing company. The inn is much larger than it appeared from the outside.
You can see a door to the kitchen as well as a stairway to the guest rooms,
and there are rooms to the east and west that have various bargames.

A large SIGN hangs over the door to the west.
[ obvious exits: N E S U ]
A copper tap with free ale is here.
A board showing the rules hangs here.
A shapely young woman skillfully weaves amongst the chaos, taking orders.
A bartender serves customers with a greedy smile.
