Forum speed |
First, I apologize for the slow speed of these Discussion Forums during peak hours. The recent zMUD 7.x release has caused a lot more traffic on our server than I had expected.
We have actually been running the zuggsoft.com server with only 128 MB of RAM (It's Windows NT 4.0, so that's not as bad as it sounds for people used to Windows XP system requirements). In any case, we will be upgrading the server to 512MB of RAM within the next week or so, and that should take care of the database speed problems.
Until then, I'll continue rebooting the server when it gets too slow since this seems to help. |

Server has been upgraded to 256MB. One of the 256MB RAM boards was bad, so we had to order another. So, we'll be up to 512MB as soon as the new card arrives. But doubling the memory from 128MB to 256MB has already helped a lot so the forums should be much better now.
Of course, that doesn't fix the problem with the overall slowness of the Internet these days, but at least the zuggsoft server is no longer the bottleneck. |
