Please help me with colors within mud |
The mud I play on has houses, and I've seen a couple people (not wizards) with their houses in color. I'm trying to figure out how to do it, as my mud has no doc on how to do it. It's not that I want just ME to see the color, I want all in the mud to see it. It's been done by others, so I know it can be done, but I'm a HORRIBLE newbie when it comes to working with this stuff. I think what I need to do is find a way to send color text to the mud, but not sure...PLEASE HELP???

um.. I do think you need to find someone on the MUD itself to help you with this.. client side coloring is just shown to you really.
Server side = MUD itself -> Shown to everyone;
Client side = the client emulating things -> Shown to just you. |

But the thing is, when I copy and paste a colored immage to where you type, and hit enter, it just sends it to the mud in black and white. I figured if I could send it to the mud in color it would work.

Some muds allow you to use Pinkfish codes to change the color of the text you sent to the game. Follow this link for instructions on how to use them.

Darn, didn't seem to work, I don't know if my mud doesn't support it, or what, but in my plan, it shows the whole string.
Ie...%^RED%^foobar%^RESET%^ Used that just as a test. |

First you need to find what your mud uses for color codes with most muds when your playing typing 'help color' will give you a helpfile on how to change the color of various things
After you get the various ways to change your colors you can use zMuds Color Syntax Editor View|prefrences|colors then click on the color syntax option and fill in the appropriate values. |
