Find in mapper spreadsheet view broken on Notes

I'd like to be able to search all my mapper rooms for particular things in the Notes field, and in the Spreadsheet view there's a search that seems to do that, and works on other fields. But it doesn't work in Notes -- I get lots of rooms that don't have the specified text, or anything even a little like it, in the results. Can anyone replicate this? Is it a configuration problem or a bug?
