zmud freezes

First off, I'd like to say what a great product zmud is, I've used it for about 3 years now, and don't know how I managed without it.

I am using zmud 6.16 (mainly because i find the map easier to use).

My problem is that i get regular 4-6 second freezes whilst using it.

I have a map of a mud open that is approx 20,000 rooms I've done it all in one zone, to allow me to quickly readjust my position, rather than multiple zones. I have a suspicion it is being autosaved at regular intervals, resulting in this lag.

Is there any way to turn off this autosave (if that is indeed the problem) or is my map just too big?

Thanks for any help in advance. :)

You need to upgrade to v7.01. The older versions had lots of speed and lag problems with the mapper that cannot be solved. The mapper is *not* saved at intervals. In fact, in 6.16 your map can get corrupted because it's only saved when you exit. But yes, the problem is your map is too large for the old version to handle efficiently. The new version uses an SQL database that is much more efficient in v7.x compared to any previous version.
