Dealing w/new upgrade HELP |
Ok. So I upgrade to 7.01 from whatever I was using before (6.something). I immediatly start getting 'out of bounds' list error 0s when I boot up zmud, and whenever I try to start a mud up, the whole POS program crashes. God I hate upgrading from perfectly good software to glitch riddled junk. [:(!]
Anyway, I delete all of my profiles from the character list to start the list over, figuring, you know, that there is an easily accessible IMPORT function SOMEWHERE...ANYWHERE, so that I can re-import my profiles from the zmud folder so I can actually play on the accounts I have customized and set up. No dice, no import function anywhere that I could find. And, of course, none of the muds I play on are on the extensive and useless pre-generated list.[xx(]
Is there ANY way for me to import the customized settings I already have, or am I totally boned, and have to start all over on all of my profiles/triggers/etc?[?][?][?] |

"Glitch riddled junk" ??? That's no way to get help from the fans of zMUD, Sir Craven. Did you honestly think an upgrade version wouldn't have provisions for importing and conversion of your old profiles? tsk tsk.

Geez, give me a break!
Let's see:
Import: How about Settings/Import? Did you even *look* at the menu options?
How about looking at the FAQ topic that is a sticky topic at the top of these forums before you posted? In there, you'd see that your should read the Migration Guide in the Support Library when having trouble with upgrades, and it also tells you about the Settings/Import menu function.
And sorry, but with the many many years of *fast* *personal* support that I provide for my *quality* software I have usually found that the most common cause of crashing isn't POS software, but POS computers that people haven't installed the patches/updates from Microsoft on.
And yeah, you'd get a lot better support if you asked nicely instead of jumping in here with that kind of post.
(and did you ever hear of the word "backup"?) |

Yeah, sorry, my tone in my last post was pretty much completely uncalled for. It was just one of those days for me. Thanks for the very helpful and swift responses even with my attitude...
