#ftp command

the #ftp command seems not to be working at all on my zmud 6.62. it crashes the program sometimes, but no matter what, it never functions as it's supposed to.

does anybody know if this is some wierd problem on my computer or whether it's just not fixed yet? It would be very helpful.

The last reported bugfix to the #FTP command was in version 6.54. See the Version History, there's a link to it from the Products/zMUD link above.

The last reported bugs were in version 6.64a and involved firewalls and non-existent files. The post is [6.64a] Bug and feature request for #FTP in the beta forum. If you don't have access you only need to apply, approval is automatic. You can find a link to the application on the top Forum page.

The ftp server I have running on this mud is pretty basic, it knows how to respond to these functions:

user,pass,retr,stor,nlst,list,pwd,cdup,cwd,quit,type,mkd,port,noop,dele,syst,pasv

When I try to connect to it from zmud though, the list of files continually flickers and I get a "disconnected from <ip address>" message over and over in the main window. the connect and abort buttons also flicker. when I close the ftp window, it brings up a message windows that says transfer complete, but doesn't close the window. then things start to happen aparently randomly, but it always ends with me getting a socket error # 8 or 0 no matter what I do. most other FTP clients do fine, does anybody have any clue what's going on?

i think this might actually have nothing to do with zmud, it's just the combination of the firewall on the server, the simple ftp server, and the zmud #ftp client all mixed together make it a problem and the real culprit is the firewall, off to see if I can fix it. it doesn't belong in this forum tho so *waves*
