Clock change detected (need advice) |
HELP!
When I try to boot up Zmud, I keep getting a windows box saying clock change detected. I OK it and reload Zmud..........this doesn't help. I select verify time, and it locks up.
As for the proxy server its the only thing I have not tried yet.
I am seriously computer illiterate [:I] and I am at a loss what to do....my clock, date etc it all ok.
If I flick the date too 2005 it will atleast go to the next step, which is checking the licence, but as soon as it starts that process it again locks up.
If anyone could help, I would appreciate it, thank you.
I should add that I use Windows XP Pro. It is regularly updated....and has been working for a long time with XP pro without any concerns. |

yes You have messed up.
Seriously, the licence control uses the clock to see when your trial is up. Because you use win xp, xp checks the internet to see what time it is to keep you on track. So when you set it to 2005 the elicense thinks it is 2005 then as you try to licence the product either the company rejects it for wrond date or windows sets your clock back and elicense checks the date and freezes up.
Solutions: you could stop xp from checking with the internet time.
right click MY COMPUTER
choose MANAGE
on the left part of the screen that appears choose
SERVICES AND APPLICATIONS
then on the left choose services
scroll down the list untill you come to WINDOWS TIME
double click, in the new window that appears find the box
START UP TYPE
change this to DISABLE click ok close all the screens and try to relicense.
Note this may not work.
I solved this problem by wiping out my entire computer and starting over from scratch. :) |

Set the computer clock to the correct date. eLicense is mainly checking the date, not the time.

Yes set the clock to the right year defiantly, but if you get the same message try changing just the date forward some, if not try what I said earlier.

Notice Mainly, it is sensitive to the time in the trial version. This is to keep people from trying to set back the clock to get more free time. |

From what you said that you ran it after setting the clock forward to 2005. I believe that will now require either continuously using it with your clock set ahead to 2005 or a complete system wipe. Basically you probably will have to do a complete system wipe and install at this point.

That isn't acceptable for any software and should not be a requirement. If it is then it is a sign of very poor design as the date easily could be checked on the e-license server.
Bumble I suggest that you try the following:
1. Set the date/time to the correct date/time.
2. License zMUD using e-license with the correct time set. If it is already licensed then unlicense and license again.
3. If the above doesn't work try to reinstall zMUD.
4. If it still doesn't work send an email to e-license explaining the issue. ( support@elicense.com)
Please note that you have to be a registered user to resolve this. If you aren't then the trial of zMUD is now finished.
If you are a registered user and e-license refuses to help you for some silly reason then send an email to support@zuggsoft.com
Good luck! |
