ZMUD skips lines

Hi there,

Perhaps somebody has seen this before.

I play on the Discworld MUD (discworld.atuin.net). Sometimes ZMUD skips lines. For example, when you enter consider all when you're the only one in the room, you should see this. It doesn't happen with this command only.

You are exactly equal to yourself, you had better go and arm yourself with more
spiky things and try to not arm your reflection at the same time. No problems?

However, when I do this in ZMUD, I just see this:

same time. No problems?

AFAIK it can't be my account or my connection, when I use the Windows (XP) telnet client, it works fine.
I tried all kind of settings in ZMUD, as well as the different terminal types on the MUD, but nothing helps.

So I hope somebody can help me.

Thanks,
Marc

Every single day my screen does something similar. Every once and a while the screen sort of, 'gags' a line or two of text. Left clicking or click-dragging on the screen restores the screen, but it is still annoying.

Hm, nothing changes if I left-click or click-drag. B.t.w., the missed lines are not empty. They're not there at all. This is what I see:

The calm blue waters roll back and forth.
This is Buffalo Lane, one of the more prosperous streets in the district, as far as housing and scenery and wealth and pretty
much everything else goes. Lying on the east side of the road, the residences are sprawling expanses of architectural prowess, many having large balconies on their upper floors which look over the sea to the west. The cost of living on this street for one day is probably more than the average Agatean could ever dream of making in a few lifetimes. Buffalo Lane ends to the north, where it joins the junction of Green Way and Coast Lane and continues to the south along the sea.
It is a cool secundus autumn's evening with almost no wind and many puffy clouds.
There are two obvious exits: north and south.

consider all
ot arm your reflection at the

This sounds like the sort of problem which results from choosing a common word as your password. zMUD defaults to gagging any line which contains your password, so that other people who are able to see your monitor won't be able to read what you typed when you need to enter your password. The simplest solution is to change your password.

Use the MUD's commands to change the password there, then quit from the game. From zMUD's character selection screen, click the Edit button, then go to the Character tab and enter the new Password. Save.

Lightbuld, you are my friend of the day. I've had this issue for ages, never thought this could be it. Thanks a bundle.

Any idea what is causing my problem though? My password is not anything resembling a real word, so it can't be that. I have no idea why it is happening, either. The problem first occurred about 2 months ago.

Nope, no idea what is causing your problem. It doesn't sound like it's related to this topic though.
