Saving a zone in mapper separately

Is there any way to save a zone in a map separate from the rest of the map?

How do you mean? In a separate .map file?

You might want to take a look at zMapper.

My friend and I have the same map, but I just mapped a new zone. I want to send him the new zone, without having to send the entire map again. He has a dial-up connection, so sending the whole thing would take a looooooong time.

Create a new map, use my ZoneCopy utility to copy the zone from the old map to the newly created one (with the "Make links going out of zones null" option unchecked, I believe) and send the resultant map database to your friend. He can then use my program to copy from the small map database you sent him to the one he has.

In theory, this should copy the zone and links from it to the rest of the map. However, links going from other zones into this one will not be copied and would need to be manually placed.
