Panning around the map

I'm on a roll today - sorry if I'm pestering - but here's another suggestions I'd love:

a "pan" tool - akin to graphic apps like Photoshop, Illustrator etc. - where you can "grab" the map with the cursor and pull it around in the window. It's a faster and more intuitive method of viewing the map than scrollbars. Of course, it's a programming nightmare, but 'tis just a suggestion Very Happy

You can already do this. You need a mouse with a 3rd button or scroll wheel. Click and hold the 3rd mouse button or scroll wheel and then move the map to drag it around. I think this is how it also works in Photoshop.
