Effect of Echo Messages |
What exactly is the effect of turning off the "Echo messages" option under the "Script Parser" page in Preferences?
I wish to turn it off because I use #c+ and #c- to capture messages to windows. Whenever I execute #c- to terminate capturing, it prints a very annoying "Capture text OFF" message to my screen.
I have tried gagging the line, but that leaves me with no prompt on the last line, which is very disorienting for me. I have tried #SUB to replace the prompt line minus the message, but #SUB isn't that reliable (I find there is delay in how fast it refreshes).
Now turning off "Echo messages" does precisely what I want it to do, except for one little thing. I keep seeing my prompt line repeated once in a while with nothing in between, as if something were gagged. What exactly does that option do? I'm not sure what is being suppressed here..

The options does exactly what it says, nothing more. What you describe is most likely happening because you are capturing everything between the two prompts, thus only two consecutive prompts are left.
