sounds like your character settings are corrupted. you may want to send your character settings file to zugg. Try creating a new character and import the settings from your previous character.
See the following page for instructions
http://www.zuggsoft.com/zmud/migrating.htm#Corrupt%20Settings%20Files
Go to the sections on corrupted settings. |

Did you recently upgrade to 6.62? You didn't uninstall your elisence or anything like that?
Have you installed any other software recently or driver updates recently that may be causing this problem? |

I've been using 6.62 for awhile and have never had a problem...and I realized I installed "Lords of Magic: Special Edition" I have gotten rid of it, restarted my comp and I still get the "Errors Occured" message when it trys loading the Main Module...this is completely boggeling my mind.

bah! I have tried like everything I can think of....UnLicensing, uninstalling elisence, reinstalling zmud to relisence, uninstalling and reinstalling zmud...and all I have found is that it has something to do with 6.62...6.16 works fine, but when I try and load up 6.62, when it tries and loads up the "Main Module" I get the errors occured message, but it works fine on 6.16....now my mind is fried of what to do....when I uninstalled Elisnece it didn't fully uninstall...I used the uninstaller but it was still in the control panel...I even tried unlicensing and that still didn't work.

Sorry, I'm out of suggestions. Perhaps Zugg can give you some other suggestions base on knowing the point at which the program bombs. You may try sending him a email.

Did you go the page http://www.zuggsoft.com/data and follow the instructions given there exactly for your version of Windows? It seems like I remember getting email from someone else many weeks ago with this generic "Errors occured" message and it ended up being a stupid Windows error message related to not having one of the correct MDAC/JET files.
If you are getting the Main Module initialization screen, then you are already past all of the eLicense stuff, so it's not an eLicense issue. Also, v6.16 didn't use MDAC do that would also explain the difference. |

Also, you mention that "I get explorer crashes a lot". This also points to something wrong on your computer. If installing MDAC/JET files doesn't help, you might need to try reinstalling Windows and/or make sure you have all of the patches for your version of Windows from the Microsoft web site.

I am glad your getting progress, that error message tends to indicate a failure to properly configure the service (in this case ODBC/JET). My knowledge of Win98 is a little rusty, so it would be helpful if you could try to list all items pertaining to your system configuration.
Aside from that the uninstall for "Lords of Magic: Special Edition" you mentioned might have removed a critical file due to MS not updating the usage count during installation of a file. The error message your reporting indicates that if this is the case it is beyond the socpe of anything that could be tracked down within these forums and you may have to start with a fresh installation of Windows to get things to rights. |

yeah...a reinstall was what I was thinkin, though as much as I dread to say it, I think that is what I am going to have to do...only thing I'm hating is that 90% of the stuff on my comp I can't get back...and my burner is broke....but as it is looking it is my last resort

Don't do a reformat just yet. Try just reinstalling Windows on top of the current Windows installation (and then you'll need to reapply updates like those on the /data page or those to IE). This is relatively painless and keeps the rest of your software intact and usually fixes corrupted system files. It still takes a while to install all the Microsoft updates for Windows and IE, but it's better than installing all of the rest of the software on your system again.

Oh, one more thing to try. If you go to the Microsoft site, you'll find that ADO v2.8 has been released. I haven't fully tested this yet, but some people have reported success with it.
