ZMud Won't Run |
This is a weird problem, partly because I get no error message whatsoever.
The problem is that when I click Zmud.exe in either Explorer or from the Start menu my cursor canges to an hourglass for a split second, changes back, and nothing happens.
Viewing the Task Manager while doing this shows that Zmud.exe runs for about a split second, then just stops running.
I am using Zmud 6.62 with a license on a Compaq Evo N610c laptop running Windows XP Professional.
This problem has happened to me before, so about two weeks ago I formatted and reinstalled ZMud, worked perfectly. Then the problem started happening again. I have run Ad-Aware and Corporate editions of Norton Antivirus and come up with nothing.
I tried to unlicense and relicnse ZMud to see if maybe that was the problem; but trying to run unlicense results in the same split second start and stop.
I have checked my computers security/event logs to see if maybe the problem shows up in there, but nothing shows up.
Has anybody else experienced this or maybe has an idea as to what might be happening? I assume I could very well just format and reinstall; but it happened 2-3 weeks after I got this computer, 2-3 weeks after I formatted, and I don't doubt that it very well might happen 2-3 weeks after I format again.
Oh yea, and I have tried fully uninstalling ZMud and reinstalling again, and it still won't run. I have tried uninstalling ZMud, deleting any left over files, deleting any .dll's that ZMud installed, and deleting all registry entries that referenced ZMud. Then reinstalled, and it still didn't work.
Anyway, thanks in advance.

Make sure the LicCtrl service in the control panel/admin tools/services applet is not disabled.

Wow! It worked, amazing.
BTW, how in the world did you know that's what it was?
And I did disable the LicCtrl service because it was from an Unknown Author and I'm paranoid.
