Multi selection of rooms

I noticed that in the spreadsheet view you can't multi select anymore
is there another way of doing it now ?
What I need to do is select all rooms in a zone by a name so to colour code them
eg all the small houses in say green
all the small shacks purple and so on
It would be easy enough to do if they were all grouped but thats not the case, as it's a big town with
lots a each type of house spreed all over the place and mixed in.
