I am using zmud 5.55, and the #unalias command simply DOES NOT WORK.. I have no idea why.. anyone else having a similar problem? everything else works.. but unalias just doesn't for some reason.

Most likely almost everyone else would not have this problem since they are using 6.62. I can't even begin to imagine why it doesn't work and the only thing I can advice you is to upgrade to a newer version.
