Mapper Problem |
I have a slight problem with the mapper autodetecting the room exits for the mud I play. Sometimes I get lucky and it takes. Well, I lost all my settings, and I am at it again. So instead of pulling my hair out, I am goind to post it to see if someone has a good answer :).
The screen output is as follows:
Clerk's Office
Here you can rent a room for the evening or however long you intend to
stay. The clerk assures you that the sheets are clean and the towels are as
soft as a noble's behind.
A bulletin board with the heading 'Wanted' has been posted on the far wall.
A tired looking clerk sits here waiting for you to say something intelligent.
Smoking a fat cigar, a low ranking guard vigilantly watches the inn.
201H 125V 58239X 0C Exits:NESWUD>
The Room name, person in the room, items in the room, and the prompt have colors to them. There are only NESWUD possible directions, besides named actions (i.e. enter hole).
My main problem is the exits, the auto-configure picks up everything but the exits. I have tried to parse the exits manually with a trigger:
TRIGGER: *H *V *X *C*Exits:(*)>
ACTION: #TAG exit %1 (I have tried #TAG exitpara %1 as well).
I set the trigger for prompt, and echo %1 for testing. I get the right exits on the echo, but to no avail, when I reconfigure it neverworks.
I have also tried to nuked the default settings and set up directions for only NESWUD with only the first letters in the settings (not N|North...just N|n).
So if anyone is inclined to help, please feel free.
Thank you for your time.

Go to the 'configuration settings', and in Configuration/RoomExits make sure that the checkbox 'exit in prompt' is checked

I have tried all the different configurations in the configuraion settings window for the exits. I have tried the exit in prompt and exits after keyword and all different types of checkbox arrays trying to get it to work. I even have settings written down when the auto-configure actually took and tried those. That did not work. It seems to me that if the auto-configure does not take, it never works. If I need to explain further, please tell me where.
