Command history

I'm used to 4.62, but have recently upgraded. 4.62 saved the command history all in one place, but this new one saves it separately for each window. Is there a way to change this?
Also, a related question; on the old zmud I used to enter a command, switch windows with the mouse and just hit enter for the windows I wanted to execute the command, but this can't be done in the new one...any ideas?

Thanks, that did it. It also made the command line a separate window, which I wasn't aiming for, but I just moved it back where it belongs, so no problem I guess...
