Any easy way to upgrade? |
I used the old 4.62 for ages, but have now got a new version. I actually like 4.62 better, but it's getting so old that I keep getting errors =P
As I have a lot of characters I was wondering...is there any way to easily get them from 4.62 to 6.16?
What I'm doing now is making new chars in 6.16 and then loading the old .MUD files for them. This is rather annoying since I don't always remember which file goes to which char etc. Also all my variables get reset and some triggers that are supposed to be disabled when connecting, aren't.
Anyway...don't suppose there's an easy way to...er...read mudchar.dat into the new one? =( |

Follow the instructions in the Migration Guide, specifically the ones under the link How do I Upgrade? If you really insist on upgrading to an older public version instead of the latest one, just substitute 6.16 wherever the guide says 6.40.
