Problem Saving Data in zExplorer and ACxplore 2.2

I've used ACExplorer for years w/o problems, and bought zExplorer to use with AC2 and used it with AC2 with no problems, it worked great and I built up all my own landmarks, spawn points etc w/o problems.

I quit AC2 (finished it...) and went back to AC1. So I figure I'd use zExplorer for AC1. It basically works, I can edit/add things, but when I close and open, ALL MY CHANGES ARE GONE!

SOOO I went back to using ACExplorer 2.2b, and I can see my changes in User.dat, but they don't seem to reload when I close/open!

I havent changed computers (I run it on my old P2-450 next to my main machine) or OS's (still running Win98 on old machine) and I don't get any error messages.

Help?

zExplorer and AC Explorer store the user-edited data completely differently. As you saw in AC Explorer, your changes are stored in the USER.DAT file, which is separate from the main database in the PLACES.DAT file. However, in zExplorer, everything is stored in one large database. zExplorer does not use the USER.DAT file. The database for each program is totally separate, so stuff that you add to AC Explorer will not show up in zExplorer, and vise-versa.

I can't reproduce any problem with zExplorer and AC1. When I make changes they always remain. This is a database so as soon as you click the Save button when making changes or adding a new location, it is immediately stored in the database. I can't think of any way where your edits would be lost when using zExplorer.

With AC Explorer, I can't support the 2.2b version, but in 3.33 you can check the ID value (the first value in the USER.DAT line) to make sure the correct location ID is being modified. You can search for a specific location ID using the syntax #nnnn where nnnn is the ID in the Search tab. If it's not loading the USER.DAT file, make sure it is in the same directory as the ACXPLORER.EXE file that you are running. Otherwise I can't see any way for it not to load your changes.
