DB problem ... please help

I have un alias that creates a new record with the #new command. The database is opend previously. However, i run into a little problem: if i click on the "DB" button and let the database opend, everything works just fine. If however i don't open the database that way, the alias doesn't introduce any data into my database, even if i use #dbload first. Anybody knows how can i make everything go smooth just from the script ?

You already know the answer: leave the database window open. The reason this works this way is to save on memory usage. If you don't have the database window open, then none of the functions associated with it are loaded into memory.
