Scripting the Fly-out windows? |
How would it be if Zugg coded a hook in the fly-outs so that when a chat line or even a few certain individuals' tells became active, an appropriate fly-out with the message would behave as if the mouse were hovering over it for 2-3 (or variable) seconds? I can picture the CMUD window becoming like a flight sim HUD but with text. Heh, just a thought.
Edit: I can't type. |

i thought this was possible already (I havent tried so if it isnt im sorry) for it to switch to an active window with text. So if you recieved a tell it would show. Personally im happy with just the identifier telling me to look there but i can see how it would be appealing.
or maybe window state. really not sure havent messed with those a lot yet cause they involve triggers which i dont want to code around i want to code them properly after zugg fixes the problems with them |

Hmm, maybe it is possible. I hope so. I just thought that to script a fly-out to show, it would need to have focus and I'd rather have the cursor remain in the command line window.

Yeah good idea, like the chat window in many MMO's fades in for a couple of seconds then fades back out - this one would just fly in and out instead.

Only potential problem i see here is for people on really busy muds. I have 15 channels going and messages coming in non stop so i would definatly ask that it be a feature with an off on switch in preferences or something.

I was thinking an option per window 'flyout when receiving new data' and appropriate flyout delays.

Nice ideas here. There are certainly some good possibilities for scripting the flyout windows, and for generally scripting the docking system as a whole. I'll consider some features like this later in the beta process.
