Override MXP sent by MUD server

Gday all,

The mud I play now sends some MXP Elements stuff which in general
is fine and a lot of it I use and am thankful for.

The problem is some of it is overriding my advanced right click menus
and as you can imagine is very annoying, so far I've tried unticking
the offending elements under the prefs only to have it ignore my setting completely so from there I used a command line arg..

Code:
 #MXP <!EL pers>

and ...
Code:
 #MXP <!EL pers EMPTY>

And....
Code:
 #MXP <!EL pers DELETE>

Trying to override the server elements, which worked the first night,
but on the following night has done and continues to do nothing.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks in advance,
Mark.

These elements are probably being recreated each time you connect to your MUD or do some special command. You would need to keep deleting them each time they are recreated. Another option is to just change your menus and scripts so they use an element that doesn't conflict with the ones used by your MUD.

That may be the case, but if I turn them off in my client, shouldn't then my client ignore them instead of displaying them anyway?
shouldn't my preferences always override anything the server puts forward ?

What do you mean by displaying them anyway? What exactly is zMUD doing that you don't want it to do?

Hope I can be more clear sry if I'm not. I do appreciate your help Kjata.
in the preferences under the MXP settings is a list of elements sent from server to client
these elements mostly are right click menus for things like player names and shop items etc...
I can turn them all off from the MXP settings page with the 'Allow commands in MXP menus' switch
but I wish to use some of them not all. So on the elements pages is your list with tick boxes in front
of the elements in question on the 'Mud' tab. So I un-select or turn off if you like, the ones I do not want and leave the ones I do
but the ones that have been turned off are still being used/displayed by Zmud. eg if I turn off the one for player names I should then
be able to right click and see my menus but instead I'm seeing the element ones.

Thanks heaps,

Mark.

I had a similar question and hadnt gotten to post it.

What he means is each element has an individual check mark. When you uncheck an item it doesnt stop it from being used it still displays the mud menus instead of his own.

I was concerned about this as well although i currently dont use specific menus, I ran across this while trying to figure out an MXP error. I wanted to disable one that was causing an error and instead i had to disable MXP completely. Quite unfortunate
