client drops connection when idle |
I've been using Zmud for years, and it seems that in the last few versions, on both XP and 2k, if I leave myself idle on a mud for anywhere between 20 minutes and 6 hours, then come back and enter a command, the connection will drop and any scrollback that might have existed never shows up.
I'm sure I could rectify it by turning on a spammish wiznet option and having it trigger a command every time that popped, but that really is a crappy way to have to deal with it. I've been told that other clients have settings that will send packets to the mud periodically while idle, but I haven't been able to find anything like that in the documentation or in the settings or preferences options. Are there any current solutions or forthcoming ones? |

#ALARM {-10:00} {#CR}
Sends a simple carrige return every ten minutes while connected. Variations, in the time, on this deal with nearly ever timeout I have ever seen and don't cause spam. Just a new prompt. |
