It seems like any thing that happens to the topic resets this preference.

I've edited this topic nearly 10 times just trying to figure out what was going on.

I can check "Notify me when a reply is posted," and it is saved. However, if I reply or delete a post, then edit the initial post again, that checkbox is no longer checked and I never receive an email.

I've checked it again on this topic. I'm going to make a test reply and see what happens.

Edit: Yep, this reply reset my preference to receive notification of replies to this topic.

Edit: Okay, I think I've figured this out now. If *I* reply without checking "Notify me when a reply is posted" in that reply, that is what resets it. That makes sense, but if I am currently "subscribed" to a particular topic, shouldn't it be checked for me?

Edit: It still gets reset if I delete a post (I had a second test reply that I deleted).
