Liscensing Problem / cannot open ZMud

We had the power go out here today, and after we got the power back up and running, and the computer rebooted, we cannot get zmud opened. Each time we try (double click on the icon on the desktop) we get this error:
Sorry, could not get a license at this time.
Please try running this program later.

any idea whats wrong and more importantly, how to fix it? we have already tried uninstall/reinstall and that did not work.

Most scripts in this forum are written for Command Line entry.
Don't even open the Settings Editor unless its use is specified or obvious. |

On this same subject, does anyone know what error code -12 means? I know -17 and 23, never seen this one before.

-12 This error occurs when you have a personal firewall/proxy installed on your computer. You may need to disable the personal firewall/proxy software temporarily to get your license.
