zMUD locking up

I have a problem with zMUD doing this crazy lock-up thing when I try to speedwalk and send a lot of commands. When I speedwalk to a far place, and it sends perhaps 10-15 lines or more of commands, zMUD instantly locks up, but it doesn't completely lock up. It locks up for maybe 5 seconds, then unlocks for 2, then repeats, until I force-quit zMUD.

Any ideas? It doesn't do it when I speedwalk shorter distances, just the long ones.

It sounds like a RAM problem to me. What version are you using? Also, check the number of lines in your scrollback. The more lines you have, the more RAM the scrollback takes.

I'm using zMUD 6.40. I don't see why it would be a RAM problem. I have 640 megs of ram. The scrollbacks are all set to the defaults of 1000. I don't see why that would really matter though. I have a friend that uses zMUD on the same MUD and doesn't have a problem speedwalking across the entire MUD.

In the past this issue has been traced many times to XP and Ethernet Card drivers.

Could anyone elaborate on what Danlo said about it maybe being a RAM problem? I have 512 DDR ram, but for awhile now whenever I get into big fights on my MUD it locks up. It might just be coincidence but it does it to graphical games I try to play too, they hang horribly. But, I'm mainly worried about the MUD. I updated my ethernet drivers and I don't think it's XP. It didnt start doing this until about 3 months ago. Some tell me I could've contracted a virus that makes your RAM not work properly, but Norton 2k3 doesn't pick up anything.
