accidental misclick with consequences

I had 6 characters logged, 6 tabs in cmud then i did an accidental mouse click, and the first 5 tabs disappeared showing only the 6th tab still of the last character.
What happened? what did i click? They shouldnt disappear so easily.
I had to restart cmud and log them all 6 again to get them back.
But in the mean time all 6 had died.

You were the one who clicked it... afraid there isn't enough information for me to figure it out.

Potentially you closed a window that is integral to your layout's cohesiveness.

I was moving the mouse and think it was a right click or maybe one of the buttons on the side

If you right-click the title bar of a window you can close it from the menu.

you have "tabbed" the other characters likely.. if you double click the current tab it will minimize that character, and if you have more than 1 session opened under that parent tab it will minimize them all under it.. check under the top header block on left to see for character names there... its a very small grey tab.

That wasnt it. They were all 6 tabbed. How do I make 5 of 6 tabs disappear with one mouseclick showing only one tab afterwards?
None of the tabs was the parent of the other.

I have never seen this issue myself.

Speculation... there is usually a master window of a given tabbed group (all the other windows are tabbed to it, and its position is usually relative to the main session window).
Something happening to it might have unexpected results on the others.

Might just have to fix it and worry about why, when, and if you can reliably reproduce it.

I suggest you Lock your layout after you rearrange the windows the way you like to prevent this sort of thing happening in the future.
The option is under layout on the menu bar.

Did this to myself recently, all of the character windows closed (not sure what I did either, but it was definitely not the minimize to tabbed window when you doubleclick the window bar behavior noted by chris123zugg).

How I recovered:

Within the session,
Settings->click on the window name for settings-> "enabled" in the upper right
Settings->click on the window name for settings->Advanced (tab at the bottom of the settings window) -> "Window is Visible" checkbox
